 Welcome
In Q2, Indian travellers were introduced to South Africa through a host of exciting platforms starting with our unique, interactive online reality travel series. A Fear Factor TV shoot and a blockbuster Bollywood thriller – Luck - which was largely set and shot in South Africa showcased the destination from a fresh perspective.
Our 5th in-country Famil, to prepare for the oncoming outbound season, took place in the Royal City of Hyderabad. The event
brought together key members of the South African and Indian
travel trade and was a resounding success.
Through our successful Famils, trade workshops and our association with major sporting events like the
ICC Champions Trophy, our marketing and positioning strategies in India are bearing fruit. In the midst
of global economic turmoil, India has achieved total tourist arrival of 37,213 till July 2009, representing growth of 13.8%.
